Watermelon Smoothie: Try my Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie!

You don't often see a watermelon smoothie. This delicious fruit, in my opinion, isn't used nearly often enough in fruit smoothie recipes. I think this is because people are unsure which flavors work well with watermelon.

I've done a lot of experimenting and have come up with a really simple and incredibly tasty recipe for a Watermelon Strawberry Smoothie:

What's the best time for watermelon smoothies?

My watermelon smoothie recipe is a PERFECT thirst quencher on a hot summer day.

I also highly recommend it if you're looking for something healthy to eat that will curb those afternoon junk food cravings! It's a great recipe to make in the morning, put in a thermos and take it to work with you.

Like all my Like all my healthy smoothie recipes, you can make this watermelon smoothie in less than 10 minutes!

You'll need:

4 cups of watermelon (with peel removed)
9-10 frozen strawberries*


Two simple steps:

1) Cut watermelon into bite size cubes, then place in a high speed blender:

Blend until smooth.

2) Next, add frozen strawberries* to the blended watermelon and blend until very smooth. Ready to drink!

*I like to freeze my own fruit instead of using the prepackaged kind. Simply remove the green stems from the strawberries, wash, and place in a bowl in your freezer at night. In the morning, your strawberries will be ready for you.

If you do use frozen strawberries from a bag, make sure the only ingredient is strawberries! Avoid added sugars or "fruit juice"!

Do you have a powerful blender?

If you want to make healthy smoothie recipes and other delicious goodies like my homemade sugar-free desserts, salad dressings and sauces a part of your everyday diet, then you're going to want to invest in a REAL BLENDER!!!

I cannot more highly recommend the Vita-mix blender. It's an investment of money, but I can honestly say it's worth every penny. Finally giving up those cheap blenders and getting a Vita-mix professional blender was, for me, like getting out of a twenty year old pickup truck and sliding behind the wheel of a BMW! One of the best decisions I've ever made.
