Simple healthy recipes: Cashew Cream:
Looking for simple healthy recipes? Add this delicious cashew cream to one of my smoothie recipes, homemade healthy desserts, or use it as a dip for apple slices. It is a wonderful healthy alternative to dairy!

You can mix with with fresh fruit, like blueberries or strawberries:

Simple Healthy Recipes: Cashew Cream:
You will need:
1 cup of raw cashews
1 cup of cold water
Directions:
Pour cashews and water into a high-speed or other strong blender and blend until very smooth and creamy. There should be no chunks.
Refrigerate overnight so that the water will have time to absorb into the cashews and create a much thicker consistency.
Suggested uses:
Add 1 or 2 tbsp raw honey or raw agave nectar* to make it sweet:

Raw agave nectar is a natural, unrefined sweetener that can be used anywhere you would normally use white sugar.
Raw agave is pulled from the agave plant of Mexico. It's absolutely nectar-like and is actually sweeter than refined sugar, but it doesn't spike your blood sugar. Because it is raw and unrefined, all of its nutrients and enzymes are intact.

Health nuts the world over have embraced raw agave for its healthful properties. It reminds me of a cross between maple syrup and honey. I buy mine at Whole Foods and I know it is now carried in the health food section of many grocery stores.
Just be sure you buy the raw kind, which is a dark amber color. It should clearly say RAW on the label!
