Pineapple Smoothie: Try my own Pineapple Strawberry Smoothie!

My pineapple smoothie was created on a rainy, gloomy morning when I wanted some colorful fruit for breakfast to cheer me up. I was thinking smoothie, but having no bananas in the house, I decided to experiment.

I found some ripe, delicious pineapple and some ruby red strawberries and the result: a delicious Pineapple Strawberry Smoothie! YUM!!!

As with all my healthy smoothie recipes, this pineapple smoothie uses only ripe, fresh fruit.

You don't even need to add water! It just doesn't get any easier than this!

Ingredients for my Pineapple Smoothie Recipe:

Pineapple smoothie

1/2 pineapple (peel removed and cut into bite size chunks - see picture above)

8-9 frozen strawberries*

DO NOT ADD WATER!!!

*I like to freeze my own fruit instead of using the prepackaged kind. Simply remove the green stems from the strawberries, wash, and place in a bowl in your freezer at night. In the morning, your strawberries will be ready for you.

If you do use frozen strawberries from a bag, make sure the only ingredient is strawberries! Avoid added sugars or "fruit juice"!

Directions:

1) Place the pineapple chunks into your high-speed blender and blend until smooth. DO NOT ADD WATER! You may have to stop the blender, remove the pitcher from the base and give it a good shake a couple of times if the pineapple cubes become stuck in the blades.

2) Add the frozen strawberries and blend until very smooth. There should be no chunks!

Can you believe how tasty this is? My Pineapple Strawberry Smoothie is an excellent, easy breakfast when you want something healthy but you're short on time. You can drink it while you're getting ready for work!

I also highly recommend this pineapple smoothie in the afternoon hours when you feel the junk food cravings about to strike.

I cannot more highly recommend the Vita-mix blender. It's an investment of money, but I can honestly say it's worth every penny. Finally giving up those cheap blenders and getting a Vita-mix professional blender was, for me, like getting out of a twenty year old pickup truck and sliding behind the wheel of a BMW! One of the best decisions I've ever made.
