When you use real foods (i.e. whole and unprocessed, and therefore full of flavor), you can toss out the unnecessary junk that makes most desserts so hopelessly bad for you: refined sugar, preservatives, pasteurized dairy products.
On any given day you can see beautiful fruit ripening in my kitchen. I let it ripen to completion, because only then are the flavors and nutrients "released" and ready to be utilized by our bodies. And once it's ripe and ready, I use it to create all kinds of great dessert recipes!
Did you know that simple frozen bananas, blended until they're creamy and smooth, make the most delicious ice cream? It's true!

Try adding in some fresh coconut water and medjool dates when you're blending them up, and you've really got a treat!
