Easy breakfast recipes: How to make fresh-squeezed orange juice!
If you're looking for easy breakfast recipes, there's nothing simpler or tastier that a big glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice! It's one of my favorite quick breakfast ideas when I'm on-the-go:
I became hooked on fresh-squeezed orange juice when I gave up coffee five years ago.
Trust me, once you ditch your coffee addiction, you'll be able to see what a natural energy boost you get from orange juice!
People think squeezing your own orange juice must be difficult or time-consuming. In fact, nothing could be easier!

Orange juice is wonderful on its own and is an excellent addition to smoothie recipes, like my Papaya Cherry Orange smoothie:

This is what you'll see on many mornings in my kitchen:
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE citrus! Citrus is in season in the winter months. On a cold gloomy morning, nothing can lift your spirits quite like a big glass of orangey goodness!
1) An orange juice press (also known as an electric citrus juicer). I got mine for $14 at the kitchen supply store:
2) 7 or 8 oranges, cut into halves (you can also use grapefruit!)
Instructions for how to make orange juice:
Take each orange half and grind it into the top of the orange juice press.
The container will slowly fill with juice, like so:
And that's it! Pour into a glass and drink!
PLEASE NOTE: Drink your juice right away! Don't wait! As soon as a fruit is juiced, it rapidly begins to lose its enzymes and vitamins. Within half an hour, they're gone. To get the nutritional benefits from juice, drink it as soon as you squeeze it!
TIP: Sliced oranges make an excellent easy and healthy breakfast. I like to mix different varieties. This morning I had cara-cara and blood oranges:
