Apple Smoothie Recipe: Apple-grape-strawberry smoothie!

I created this apple smoothie recipe one cold fall morning with only a few pieces of fruit in the house. It takes five minutes to make. Hail to the mighty apple smoothie!

When I became a super healthy eater and ramped up my intake of fresh fruit, I suddenly discovered how utterly delicious apples are!

Generally apples are a tough fruit to include in smoothies, but I've discovered over years of perfecting my fruit smoothie recipes that actually they work really well when combined with the right supporting fruits.

So, if you're in a hurry and don't have time to make an elaborate breakfast, this apple smoothie is for you!

Apple smoothie recipe ingredients:

The only ingredients you will need:

Apple Smoothie Recipe

Two apples, with core removed and cut into large cubes (don't remove peel)

6 or 7 frozen strawberries (I prefer to freeze them myself instead of buying them frozen in a bag. Simply buy a regular container of strawberries, remove the green stems, wash them, and put them in a tupperware bowl in the freezer overnight. If you do buy pre-frozen strawberries, make sure the only ingredient is strawberries. Avoid like the plague any added sweeteners like sugar and "fruit juice").

10 seedless red or black grapes

DO NOT ADD WATER!!!

 

Apple Smoothie Recipe Directions:

First, put the apple cubes and the grapes into your blender. Blend until smooth.

Next, add the frozen strawberries and blend until very smooth (there should be no chunks).

That's it!

Ready to serve:

Here's a healthy recipes tip if you're travelling:

Before I head to the airport, I will cut into bite-size cubes three or four apples and then put them in a large tupperware bowl that I can carry on the plane with me. Once I'm past the security gates, I will grab from any cafe a plastic fork and some napkins. I will use the fork to eat the apples once I'm on the plane.

This is a perfect solution for those of us who want to eat healthy while travelling and who don't want to be tempted by the junk food offerings in most aiport terminals. You'll be surprised at how incredibly filling and satisfying eating apples can be!
